A good piece here written by Christopher Hitchens, the lefty half of the Hitchens brothers.
He asks the question in the title and gives the answer which as we all know is; 'because they react with violence to anyone who dares question their beliefs'.

The reason Hitchens is hostile to Islam has absolutely nothing to do with racial nationalism.
For about six years he has been a strong supporter of the Washington neocons.
As it happens Mr Hitchens is half-Jewish.

A mother and her boyfriend have been jailed for murdering her four-year-old daughter in West Yorkshire.
Sharon Wright, 23, and 22-year-old Peter McKenzie-Seaton were both given life terms for killing Leticia Wright and each will serve at least 23 years.
Leticia had 100 separate injuries when she died and the judge at Bradford Crown Court said she had suffered "deliberate and grotesque cruelty".
She was found dying in her Almondbury Bank home in November last year.
Window 'vigil'
During the four-week trial, the jury was told Leticia's injuries were equivalent to a major road traffic accident.
Her body was covered from head to toe in injuries, which police believe were inflicted in the last four weeks of her life.
The fatal injuries were inflicted two or three days before the little girl's death.
Following her death, forensic officers found clumps of Leticia's hair in a wheelie bin outside the house, while traces of her blood were found inside.
Wright blamed Seaton, of Northallerton, North Yorkshire, for the injuries, accusing him of going into a rage because he did not have any cannabis.
The court heard he smoked up to £140 worth of skunk - a potent form of the drug - every week.
In the weeks before the death, the girl was seen standing as if in a "vigil" at her bedroom window.
Witnesses said Leticia looked sad but would smile and wave back at the neighbours who waved up at her.
The court heard two neighbours were so concerned they rang social services.

Two social workers from Kirklees Council visited the house and met Leticia and her mother.
Linda Blackie and Nicola Stephenson found Leticia to be of normal weight with no obvious marks, but she was initially quiet and when asked to fetch her toys she came back with hair grabs and a pink cup.
After checking back that Leticia had been registered with a local nursery, her file was closed.
She stopped attending the school after one week.
'I don't like Mummy'
The court heard that at one point Leticia complained to two of her aunts - the sisters of her natural father Zaheer Hussain - that Seaton would come to her room and smack her.
She also told them: "I don't like Mummy".
The worst violence is believed to have started after a visit from a health worker on 24 October, 2006.

Det Supt Paul Taylor, who led the investigation, said the couple were a "fatal combination".
He said: "Sharon Wright was a very heavy-handed, unloving, uncaring mother.
"What we also know is that Peter Seaton was a man of violence, and he was pretty inadequate in a lot of ways.
"As individuals they were unpleasant people. When they got together they were a fatal combination.
"They wanted to be together and... Leticia was in the way."
Paul Johnson, head of safeguarding at Kirklees Council and a member of the Kirklees Safeguarding Children Board, defended the local authority's handling of the case.
He said a council review carried out by an "independent professional" concluded Leticia's death "could not have been foreseen".
But he conceded "certain aspects could have been handled differently".

Child sex ring man sent to jail
A man who was part of a paedophile gang in Edinburgh has been sentenced to life imprisonment for raping two girls in the 1990s.
Morris Petch, 50, who was convicted in May of the crimes, was told he would serve a minimum of 12 years in jail.
He was sentenced on Friday at the High Court in Edinburgh.
At court, Lord Malcolm described the offences as "grave and disgraceful" and said Petch was a "serious risk to the public".
Petch was part of a paedophile gang which started abusing the two girls when they were less than 10-years-old.
A jury found him guilty of forcing Dana Fowley, now 27, (who waived her right to anonymity) and another youngster, now 25, to have sex at his home in the Muirhouse area of Edinburgh over 17 years ago.

Speaking outside the court, Ms Fowley said she was pleased the case was over and pleased with the sentence.
Petch had denied rape but a jury found him guilty in May.
They also convicted him of raping Ms Fowley and forcing her to perform sex attacks on other occasions at addresses in the Muirhouse area of the city.
Lord Malcolm told him on Friday: "It is plain from the assessment carried out on you that you have no remorse for them, nor for the damage you have caused for your victims.
"Indeed you are in denial of your crimes and your inability to control your deviant desires.
"It is clear from the material now available to the court you are a serious risk to the public.
"Nothing has been said on your behalf - no doubt because there is nothing that can be said."
'Extraordinary' abuse
Ms Fowley's mother, Caroline Dunsmore, 43, was sentenced in June to 12 years in prison for her part in the gang rape of her young daughter and another girl.
John O'Flaherty, 50, was earlier jailed for 13 years.
Petch was a friend of William King, who had orchestrated the abuse of the youngsters. He had been married to Dunsmore, but died in 1995.
Advocate depute Iain McSporran, prosecuting, described how - from a very early age - Ms Fowley fell victim to the paedophile ring.
Being raped became "a way of life" he said, and the abuse was "extraordinary".
Dunsmore and O'Flaherty had earlier admitted abuse of Ms Fowley in a caravan in Perthshire on a single night between April 1990 and June 1990 and to years of earlier sexual abuse and rape of the same girl at a house in Edinburgh when she was as young as six.
Dunsmore went on to give evidence against Petch. The court heard that both girls had contemplated suicide.

Murdered victim 'kicked 15 times'
A teenager murdered in Londonderry last weekend was kicked in the head about 15 times, the High Court has been told.
Liam Devlin, 19, from Burnfoot in County Donegal, was attacked as he and four friends walked through Creggan.
Two men accused of his murder were due to apply for bail but the application by Sean Cruickshank, 19, from Lislane Drive, Derry, was adjourned.
The judge rejected a bail application by Edward McEleney, 20, from Circular Road in the city.

The three comments above show the confused mentality and lack of understanding what we're about of the idiots that oppose us.
The suggestion is that whites are as much criminals as ethnics.
A fews points i'd like to make namely:
1. The majority of criminals around today are products of the namby pamby environment, an environment created by the left who have been running the Establishment since the sixties.
2.A BNP Government would deal with criminals in a way that would see they would never want to set foot in a prison again, that's assuming the crime wasn't severe enough to merit a death sentence.
3. We have enough of our own scum as they point out without importing more.
I never said the reason Hitchens opposed Islam was to do with racial nationalism. It has everthing to do with its backward stance on everything non Muslim.
And as it happens Mr Hitchens is not half Jewish. He has a small amount of Jewish blood from his mothers side but was brought up a Christian and is now a confirmed atheist
